New Page – Summary of 1st in-school Co-op Session
A new page has been added for the first in-school co-op session.
There’s lots to do in our session, so students are asked to arrive on time and log directly into Google Classroom.
Anything not completed in our session will have to be completed as homework by the end of the week.
Computer Studies and Computer Technology Curriculum Refresh – Preliminary Research
Many of you have likely heard that the Ministry of Education has announced that they want to update the curriculum [link] as well as “improve coding and computational skills for all students as part of their plan to create jobs, grow our economy, and help people in their everyday lives” [link].
In anticipation of this, ACSE (Association for Computer Studies Educators) would like to start collecting some preliminary feedback to form our input to the Ministry of Education for when they formally announce the process. BDSS – New House System and Day 1 Alternative Schedule
From Mr Miller:
We will be creating a colour house system with our students this year. We will be dividing students into 16 colour-named groups (houses) with approximately 32 students, and 2-3 teachers, per group. The purpose of the groups is to grow our school spirit, and provide a means by which to facilitate intramurals, competitions, collaborative work and connections with students in an exciting and meaningful way. The system was suggested and designed based on feedback from students and staff on what could be done to make our school better.
